Happy Mabon!
Sep. 22nd, 2009 10:58 pmHappy Mabon, everyone!
It's Autumn! Autumn, Autumn, Autumn! My favourite time of the year :) On my way out of work this evening, i could already smell it in the air. Summer and Spring smell different here than they did back in England/Holland. Autumn, though, has a very familiar, comforting smell that reminds me of running through piles of dry leaves, morning and evening fog, toffee apples and long shadows in the afternoon.
This past weekend
luvcherbear and i went to Fall Frolic up near Milford. I didn't realise at the time, but it was very much a pagan-oriented event. I went mainly to hear
magicksaff and
stihltygre play a few sets (their band is Project Wendigo), but had fun visiting the vendors and joining in a Mabon ritual in the woods. That evening the Gypsy Nomads played as well... always awesome to see them, but this time it was in a small hall with at most 50 people there.

Last time we saw them was at the last Wicked Faire, with hundreds of people in the audience. This was definitely a different experience :)
Sunday we had another Mabon celebration with family and friends. Less ritual, more Harvest feast, and wonderful seeing everyone again!
Hope everyone had a wonderful day! Hugs & kisses to my loved ones!
Each blade of grass whispers Jack-In-The-Green. / Oh Jack, please help me through my winter's night. / And we are the berries on the holly tree.
