I was curious to see how accurate these tests might be, so figured i'd take one...

Jung Explorer Test
Actualized type: INFP
(who you are)
INFP - "Questor". High capacity for caring. Emotional face to the world. High sense of honor derived from internal values. 4.4% of total population.

Preferred type: INFP
(who you prefer to be)
INFP - "Questor". High capacity for caring. Emotional face to the world. High sense of honor derived from internal values. 4.4% of total population.

Attraction type: INTP
(who you are attracted to)
INTP - "Architect". Greatest precision in thought and language. Can readily discern contradictions and inconsistencies. The world exists primarily to be understood. 3.3% of total population.

Take the Jung Explorer Test

Hmm.... interesting. Not too sure i agree with the attraction type, though.

Ok, so if there are 16 M-B types, that means on average you share a type with 6 1/4 % of the population. So how come whenever i read someone's profile with their type listed (including mine...) it includes something to the effect of "you share this type with x% of the population", where x is always 2,3,4%? There must be some types that are far more common than others....

Yeah, Big G confirms it... I guess all those high-percentage types are the "normal" people whose profiles i'd never run into (if they even had profiles on sites i frequented). Interestingly, i was going to post the statistics from another site that offers a test. I noticed my type occured over 11% of the time there! It turns out this is because they only list results of people who took their test, and certain types are more likely to take such a test in the first place. "Lies, damn lies and statistics", as Mark Twain put it (also attributed to others, though).

Oh, and a second observation, since i'm in that frame of mind... Why do so many cool people live in Texas?! :)
