iestynapmwgAs usual, it's taken me until half way through the week to get around to writing a weekend update. Two weekends this time...

luvcherbear and i went to the (mostly) quarterly tribe meet. Wonderful time with family, nommy food, music, singing... There were even a few people (you know who you are :) doing shots of Southern Comfort.
The highlight of the meet, though, was a ceremony wherebunnyjadwiga's and juergen's baby Beekman was presented to the tribe. It was a very nice ceremony... Both of them and maziemaus read passages (quite a few tears around the circle, good ones), gifts were presented, and luvcherbear and i were asked to be B's goddessparents!
Sunday we spent relaxing, cleaning the house like crazy because we'd been busy the past few weekends, and more relaxing in a tidied house. All in all, a good weekend.
This past weekend we went to see my sister and her dad play at The Wildflower cafe in Bethlehem, along withchibimonnie and faerygurl. They were amazing, as always. This was a benefit concert for Clean Water Action. They played Wild Horses again... i don't know if that was because i told my sister last time it was one of my favourite songs :) She sang White Rabbit, and aced it, which is not easy with that song. More songs, covers and originals, including some my sister wrote. They played for about two hours and while the next guy was setting up the power went out due to a heavy thunderstorm. It didn't bother him, he had an acoustic guitar and played by emergency lighting. Folk tunes and interesting stories from an old hippy... great times. There was some momentary confusion when the power came back on, but the amplifiers weren't working. It turned out nobody had bothered to plug him in while there was no power :)
Home after that, with lots of talking late into the night. Unbeknownst to us, a few doors down from The Wildflower, a restaurant burned down around this time! Didn't find out about it until i heard it on the news Monday evening. Apparently they had to tear the building down and traffic was a mess around there for days.
chibimonnie hung around the next day and there was more, deep conversation. Very positive developments came of it :) We had an impromptu game day and good friends J and B came over. We played Apples to Apples and B roasted a pork loin they had lying around. All too soon it was time for chibimonnie to leave... After, there was Rockband, which i'm still playing on easy level :) Another good weekend!
This coming weekend is a long one. Not only do i have Labor Day off, but the day after, too, because of my company's requirement that everyone take even more vacation time so they don't have to pay us. I already have some plans, so we'll see what else happens :)
