Two for one special

First off, Merry Yule and Blessed Solstice!

I had meant to post last week about the previous weekend, but never got around to it. So now i'm posting about last weekend, too.

Dec. 11th was the annual formal ball for Reading Pagans and Witches. Great time, even if the DJ left something to be desired. It was also the first time we've left the Bean with a baby sitter. [livejournal.com profile] luvcherbear was texting the baby sitter back and forth nervously until we both received a picture of him fast asleep :) After the ball we picked him up and went back to our hotel where there was an after-party going on. More good times. I'm cautiously optimistic (read, going squeeeeee! inside very quietly) that i might have a new sweetie, too.

Sunday was relaxing and then i woke up with a migraine on Monday. I called off work, but it did mean i got to go to Bean's weigh-in at the doctor's office. He had put on almost 2 lbs in 2 weeks, which was a relief. He had been losing some weight due to acid reflux, but Zantac seems to helping now. A long talk with [livejournal.com profile] stihltygre and more talking with [livejournal.com profile] luvcherbear gave me some insight into this whole parenting thing and i think i'm less stressed about it now.

Fast foward to last weekend... Friday night [livejournal.com profile] stihltygre and [livejournal.com profile] magicksaff came over for more processing of this parenting thing (they have 6 kids between them). Then on Saturday we were off back down to Reading, this time for a Yule party. We stayed overnight in a hotel down there again, where i didn't get much sleep. The Bean was up 3 or 4 times during the night, probably because he got over-stimulated with so many people at the party, all of whom wanted to hold him :) We went back to the previous evening's house the next morning to hang out with people for a little and then drove the aforementioned potential sweetie home.

And now i'm winding down the last few work days of the year. Tomorrow's my last (half) day, if i don't decide to just call out altogether. Then it's packing and off to California for the holidays!

Join together beneath the mistletoe. / By the holy oak whereon it grows. / Seven druids dance in seven time. / Sing the song the bells call, loudly chiming.

Safe trip, and hope you have a good time! Though I guess we won't be catching you (and getting to meet Hawthorn) over the hols, as we won't be making it north until next week. **hugs** to all!
