Life has been busy lately, even with this past weekend being a low-key one. Let's see... where did i last leave off? About to head to California for the holidays...
Traveling with a 4-month-old was certainly an adventure! He handled it surprisingly well, considering how long the trip took. 3 planes, 4 airports and about 13 hours. It wasn't until the end of the last leg that he started to get a bit fussy and wanted to be held. By mommy, of course, me holding him just isn't good enough, it seems *sniff*
luvcherbear and i had a great time out there and it was a welcome break. We were quite spoiled -- the Bean's grandma almost never put him down. Had to make sure she hadn't substituted the puppy in his car seat when we came home :) It was interesting to have 2 New Year's celebrations, calling everyone back here at local midnight and then having our own 3 hours later. Curious thing: the local tv stations out there show a recording of the New York ball dropping and associated performances instead of having anything live locally to report on.
The trip back was uneventful, having avoided a snow storm back here just before, and torrential rain out there just after. Though the Bean did spit up on mommy a bit, right at the end. And we were lucky enough not to have to dig the car out of a snow embankment. In fact, most of the snow was gone by the time we got back.
Since then, there have been two dates with the potential sweetie from the previous post, N. At
luvcherbear's insistence, the first was overnight, at N's place, so i wouldn't have to worry about driving home late. The only hiccup was me not checking in at home when i meant to due to dozing off on the couch (oops!). Then the following weekend she came over to our place after a party for a friend of ours and stayed overnight. Both dates went wonderfully! I can safely say the "potential" part of the sweetie-ness has been realised :) We're officially "girlfriend and boyfriend" *squeeeeee*! This is all still new, of course, but given how well we hit it off, this is quite possibly the beginning of something wonderful. N and
luvcherbear are good friends, too, which is great. In fact, i've pointed out that they seem to text each other far more than either of them texts me :)
This past weekend was low-key, as i mentioned, relaxing with
luvcherbear and the Bean, lots of cuddle time. Next weekend we should be going to RPW's Imbolc gathering, so things start to get busy again then!
But time is never wasted / When you've lived and learned / And in time it all comes back to you…
