I meant to post this over the weekend... My drive home from work on Friday was eventful.

I don't really remember the rest of the drive home... except for a brief call to luvcherbear to let her know i was running late. I'm not superstitious, but the fact that this was Friday the 13th is a bit of a coincidence.

It's Friday, I'm in love.

Figure i'll write down stuff from the past several weekends before i start forgetting them :) Why only weekends? That's when i have a life...

This weekend promises more fun... trick-or-treaters, it's Samhain, we're possibly meeting up with paquerette on Sunday... and i have a date! *squee* :)

Happy Mabon, everyone!

It's Autumn! Autumn, Autumn, Autumn! My favourite time of the year :) On my way out of work this evening, i could already smell it in the air. Summer and Spring smell different here than they did back in England/Holland. Autumn, though, has a very familiar, comforting smell that reminds me of running through piles of dry leaves, morning and evening fog, toffee apples and long shadows in the afternoon.

This past weekend luvcherbear and i went to Fall Frolic up near Milford. I didn't realise at the time, but it was very much a pagan-oriented event. I went mainly to hear magicksaff and stihltygre play a few sets (their band is Project Wendigo), but had fun visiting the vendors and joining in a Mabon ritual in the woods. That evening the Gypsy Nomads played as well... always awesome to see them, but this time it was in a small hall with at most 50 people there.

Last time we saw them was at the last Wicked Faire, with hundreds of people in the audience. This was definitely a different experience :)

Sunday we had another Mabon celebration with family and friends. Less ritual, more Harvest feast, and wonderful seeing everyone again!

A lot has happened since i last posted, so i figured it might be time for an update. I should have more time to post next week, as i'll be stuck in a hotel room in Minneapolis. Of course, i probably won't have anything to post about, as i'll be, well, stuck in a hotel room in Minneapolis.

Since i've already written about next week, i guess i'll continue in reverse chronological order :)

So, yeah, off on another trip next week. I don't like traveling much, and being away from luvcherbear even less. Here's hoping for an uneventful journey...

I love it when artists, especially good ones, can support themselves doing what they love. I'm a bit jealous that they make a living doing what they enjoy doing so much :) The latest example is ursulav whose publisher is pulling no stops promoting her latest book, Dragonbreath and have already picked up several sequels. BTW, she sells her artwork at Red Wombat Studio and of course there's the epic Digger.

Another LJ-er self-employed, doing wonderful work is kyleri. Check out her website and order stuff. You won't regret it :) Same goes for fabricdragon's beads and other pretty things. And there's aeire and willowanderer with their webcomics...

There are many others... feel free to plug them in comments :) What prompted me to post this, though, is the tough situation another artist finds herself in. yoki_onna is the author of the Palimpsest series and was a guest at the last Wicked Faire.
